sooooo here I am posting project number 2:
I did this lamp  at least a year ago and I'm finally getting around to it! As the title would suggest, it is made from those cheap little drink umbrellas (mine were of the dollar store), a 5 dollar ikea lantern, and a light kit. Oh, and some tape.
It was moderately easy, a little time consuming, but worth it in the end.

voila!

So your post freaked me out because some of my friends made those. They are hanging in thier blue room close to the doorframe and in front of a bunch of pictures. So great lamp! You made my day.

that's super cute! did you trim the ends at all? what's keeping them in?

there used to a be a restaurant/lounge here that had those stuck into the wall in one corner, just all scattered, and i LOVED sitting in that corner!

i buy those umbrellas all the time, because i just can't resist them, now i finally have something to do with them!

thanks guys!

crafty_dame: I trimmed about half the stick off, poked 'em in, and rolled the sticks in scotch tape from the inside. I have a feeling there's a better way to do it though, because it was fairly awkward to reach in and do that.....anyone?
