Closeup of the stitch and yarn...

From the side.  Love the sleeves... ^_^

Aaaaaaaaand the back.  =P

The pattern is my own design.  Used a rectangle knifty knitter loom, 2 leftover skeins of yarn (methinks it's caron simply soft and target dollar fringe). =)

Thats soopah cute! I just finished a shrug myself that I might post if I get the chance, and Im kinda addicted.  All the fun of a sweater with half to work! You should post a pattern if you get the chance.

Okay, it's my first time writing up a pattern so bear w/ me.  ^_^***

1 skein of yarn, roughly 200 yards  (I used Caron Simply Soft in Blue Mint paired up with a cheap fringe yarn)

Knifty knitter rectangle loom (the large circular yellow loom can be substituted, juts make sure to make a flat pannel)
crochet hook (a larger size is usually easier, i used a size H)

4 stitch markers

1 tapistry needle

1.  Using all the pegs on the loom, knit using the fancy stitch (wrapping the pegs in a figure eight motion).  Knit this until the piece is the length you want.  If you want a longer sleeve shrug, knit until it equals the distance from the left wrist, around the back to the right wrist.  My length was knitted from 2 inches past my left elbow, around the back to 2 inches past my right elbow.

1.a. When it's at the length desired, bo.  The easiest way for me on the rectangle loom, was to place the loops from the right side on top of the left side pegs.  From there, knit the left side pegs (bring the bottom loop up and over the peg).  From here single crochet the remaining pegs on the loom.

2. Next fold the piece in 1/2 (1/2 point is marked by the black line in the diagram).

3.  Next, meaure and mark the place where your elbows would lie on the shrug (this is the pink lines on the diagram).  Then, measure and mark where your  underarms are in relation to the shrug (marked by the green marks).

4.  Now, measure the width of your arm at the elbow and again at the underarm.  Mark this above the green and pink marks.  From here, sew from the pink mark, to the width mark, to the underarm mark.  This should create a mini tube.

5.  It's finished!  ^_^
