Swap name: Birthday Month Swap June
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: hoxierice (organizers change every month)
Sign-up date range: 6/01/06-6/30/06
Date to send item by: 2 weeks after you claim someone
Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): no!
Non-U.S. participants allowed? yes!
All ages allowed? Or 18+? all ages!
Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap:  This swap was organized so everyone can get something crafty for their birthday!  Please read the guidelines carefully.

    * If your birthday is in June, then you can post your wishlist for this month. To do that, you must first PM me with the Swap questionnaire filled out.
    * Once I PM you and let you know you have been approved, you may post your list of things that you would want to receive.  The more you think of, the better.   The last wish you will post is "a surprise."  Then you will post a bio about yourself, including where you are from and what your birthday is.
Please post lists only.  No discussion on this thread please
    * Everyone will then go through the lists and choose a craftster they want to send a birthday gift to.  Your birthday does not have to be in June for you to craft for someone.  If you want to choose someone, just PM me with your info (including your address, please), who you want to craft for, and what item, and I will send you their address.
    * If you chose to craft for someone, you have 2 weeks to get the item out the door.  If two weeks pass, and I don't hear anything from youyou guessed it, negative feedback!
    * Each person can be chosen unlimited times!  HERE'S THE CATCH- if you get chosen, you must send the person who crafted for you a thank you note in the mail.  You will get negative feedback if you do not send a thank you note (it can be a postcard even).  I think this is a fair trade for all the crafty goodness you'll be getting!
    * It is super important for everyone to keep good communication.  When you send, let me know, and of course, don't forget the DC#.  When you receive, let me know and publically announce in the gallery (even if you don't have pictures).  Also, let me know when you send off your thank you note (no DC# required, you're on your honor!).
    * You can choose to craft for as many people as you like, but you cannot "owe" more than 3 things.  If you are a newbie and this is your first swap, you must successfully send once before choosing again.

Original idea thread and discussion located here

Goodbye Tucson! I will miss how everything dried so quickly!

Here I am!!!   MY Birthday is June 9th.  I will be 25 years old!!

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.  I live with my parents  Embarrassed and have been with my boyfriend for seven  Shocked years.  I am a trending Analyst for a Call Center staff provider. I love to sew and an learning to knit!  I love fabulous, funky or earthy fabrics in nature's colors or jewel tones.  I also love kimono look fabrics as well.  Some of my favorites include hamsters, Harry Potter books and Movies the Phantom of the Opera, reading and my new love journal making!!!

My listola!!!

I know this isn't crafted but if you live in Ireland or Scotland and could send me a little Quaich  (http://www.talariaenterprises.com/images3/5627a.jpg)  I would be your best friend forever.  I was there a few years ago and have been kicking myself ever since for not buying one - I saw them in Scotland)

Felted Slippers  (I'd be your bestest friend forever!!!) (just ideas)

Pyjamma Pants (Flannel please, any color, print is fine)  PM for sizes etc.

Golden Hands craft magazines (PM me for the ones I have, NOT the dressmaking ones)

Golden Hands Craft Books (these were hardcover books from the 70's)

Wrap skirt - PM for measurements.  Maybe black one side and a print on the other.

An embelished sweatshirt for my Mom.  (no hood).  Something pretty.  On a white sweatshirt preferably.  Maybe flowers, her inital (M), birds etc.

Wallet  (oohh, this is lovely...just an idea/inspiration)  http://www.etsy.com/view_item_sold_anon.php?listing_id=135183&transaction_id=36296  OR fabric like this (or kind of like this)...then I could make my own....

Wool  (100% wool) enought to make a pair of felted slippers  (expensive here), maybe 2 small balls.

***Cleaves from knitty.com (see archive)***

***Quilt Blocks (10.5" (unhemmed) - of your design and fabric color choice) for my Craftster Quilt***
craftsterquilt.blog spot.com  (Finished (edges unhemmed) to sew into a quilt)

Felted Stuffed Animal  OOOHH can anyone do an Elephant??
(idea) http://www.musicology.ucla.edu/grads/sun/knitting/images/sheep.jpg

FELTED BOWL!!  (Please Support My addiction) see my wists if you aren't sure what I mean, there are plenty there) http://www.wists.com/Kristen81    any color is fine

Crochet or knit bowl  (again, please support my addiction)  any color is fine

Felt Ball  (again, any color is fine...felting over a bouncy ball or rubber ball would be cool) the bigger the better

Jogging fleece shrug  PM for size.

White/light creme cabled knit scarf.  Acrylic is fine with me as long as it's 'nice'     acrylic.  The chunkier the 'wool' the better. (A narrow scarf would be cool for spring)

A long tunic style shirt decorated however you like (PM for ideas if needed) (XL-1X)

Japanese craft book

Shrug (yummy!)  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=89952.0;topicseen

Learn to crochet Amigurumi kit, I'm a beginner all I can do is single and double crochet and have no idea how to do anything else.

Home made lip balm (any flavor is fine)

Anything with Japanese Kokeshi dolls on it

Crochet for Dummies (book)  used is fine (of course)

Weighted desk/table scrap collector  (weighted pouch with bag attached for stray threads clippings etc, weighted portion sits on desk and bag hangs over edge for a recepticle)

Neat little holder for my Nintendo DS games...I don't have anything particular in mind, just something with little slots to hold games...and keep them clean.  If it could have a pocket for the instruction books that would be great!  I'm not picky about fabric anything is fine (just not felt...too fuzzy).  I'll leave this up to you as far as design etc, as long as it's secure...

Mixed color papers (for journal making (light/pale in color))

A surprize from my Wist http://www.wists.com/Kristen81

Thank YOU!!!!

Yay! Here is my special birthday list:

Fabric. I'm a beginner at sewing and would like to try some small projects like bags and whatnot.

Sewing patterns

T-shirt with a cool design on it. Maybe a squirrel (extra points for an accompanying Eddie Izzard quote - PM me) or pictures of food, like an ice cream cone. Something vegetarian-themed would be cool, like dancing tofu or pictures of broccoli or something.  Or just something nature themed, maybe. I'm a size small and look terrible in red.

Jewelry holder for necklaces and bracelets

Necklaces or bracelets! I dont like wooden beads or anything too chunky (I have kind of delicate features), and I prefer silver to gold. Thanks, chelleyf!

Purse, tote bag, messenger bag or clutch. I own very few bags and almost all of them are black!

Decoupaged box (Id especially like a hatbox or cigar box, but any size would be useful)

Stuffie of a rat, squirrel, or bat

Clothing for my Blythe doll, especially pants

Toys for my cat, Clarence. He likes catnip and things that make crinkly sounds.

Stationary and/or note cards

The Happy Hooker by Deb Stoller (maybe one of you has a used copy you don't want?)

Candy, the chocolate kind. I love British/Canadian candy bars. Wunderbar is my favorite and I can't find it here!

A surprise!

My birthday is on June 3rd and I will be 33 (yikes!) though I still feel like 25. I live in Massachusetts. I like kitschy retro 50s themes, animals, nature themes, Asian-style designs, pictures of food (especially fruits & veggies), and lots of other things Im probably not thinking of right now. Im a librarian and I just bought my first house with my boyfriend of 5 years (!!)  where we live with our cat, rat, and fish. I volunteer with a couple of animal rescue groups and Im a vegetarian and kind of a tree-hugger Smiley I read a lot. My favorite animals are rats, frogs, rabbits, bats, and squirrels. Im convinced that everything in life somehow relates to an episode of the Simpsons. Ive become obsessed with Lost. Im dying for a cranberry lemon drop martini right now.

Thanks in advance Smiley

Woo Hoo! Grin

Wish List

Sock Yarn - any kind, I just finished knitting my second pair of socks and I'm officially addicted.

Super Mario Bros. themed stuff - coasters, change purse, little things. Thanks highschoolcrafter!![/color]

Crochet Hook Case - mine are all over the place and need a home.

Double-Pointed Knitting Needles - see sock yarn explanation, I have sz. 6s & 8s and would love to have smaller sizes. Used are A-Okay with me. Thanks girlfriday!

How to Needle-Felt Kit - I'm intrested in learning how to do more with fiber.

Handmade Lipgloss - Vanilla, chocolate, lemon, lime, I'm not a big fan of other fruits.

Amigurumi patterns - to take my crochet to the next level.

Necklaces - long and loopy please, I wear a lot of black and don't wear any yellow gold.

Circular Needle Holder - or organizer, they are getting unruly. Smiley

A surprise!

I'll be turning 27 on June 12th! I'm a stay-at-home Mommy to a great little 3.5-year-old chica and am expecting another girl in mid-July. I live in Florida and am trying not to melt from the crazy summer heat. I like kind of preppy Old Navy-esque stuff. Fav colors include black, pink, turquoise and spring green. I'm not a fan of yellows or oranges as a general rule. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance. Smiley

You can learn more about me by reading my blog and checking out my Wist.

HIS/HER or BOY/GIRL themed anything. my bf named his ipod boy and mine is girl. my friend got us key holders in the shape of a boy and girl,(http://www.alphabetsnyc.com/online-store/scstore/graphics/303.jpg) one for each of us. our phones (since they match) say his and hers on it. So anything to help add to our little theme like matching tee shirts (or iron ons) that say BOY and GIRL would be cool. we dont live together so something like hand towels wouldnt work

random buttons/pins 1in (or any size)

Hair accessories- headbands (knit, crochet, or fabric), hair clips, bobbypins, barrettes, or hair ties. my hair is so boring. i also use a lot of bobbypins since im growing out my bangs. my favorite pair of hair clips i have are ones in the shapes of spiders and bats.

FABRIC-any and all kinds. wool, knit, courdory, fleece, retro, solid, mod, bright, stripes, polka dots, black & white. i especially like cottons and batik. Any size, shape, or amount.

craft supplies/sewing notions-glue, stickers, glitter, paper, cutouts, colored duct tape, handles, magenets, fabric, zippers, lace, ribbon, yarn, buttons, odd and ends. i'm also looking for clear microbeads, under wonder, and iron on transfer pens, Paint- any kind even if its a small bottom-of-the-jar amount, any colors and type

Tote bag to carry whatever knitting, sewing, cross stitch project i am working on.

Anything off my wists list

a Surprise

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box

My name is Erin, I'm 22 on June 4 and live in Vancouver, Canada. When I'm not slaving away at work, I'm out trying to save the world, hanging out at the beach, or crocheting. My favourite colours are green, pink, brown, and turquoise. I'm a vegetarian, so I don't wear leather. I like octopusses, the beach, origami paper inspired designs, cherry and plum blossoms, apples, pretty little birds, elephants, whales, and stripes and polkadots.

And here's my wish list:

Knitty's Branching Out (http://www.knitty.com/issuespring05/PATTbranchingout.html) [preferably in spring green, grey, off-white, or soft violet).

A belt made of cloth. PM me for measurements.

Some kanzashi flowers!

Wrist cuffs! (my wrist is 6.75 inches around)

A necklace with a big fabulous pendant, or a microscope slide pendant.

A roll for my crochet hooks in fabric printed with cherry blossoms or apples

Handspun yarn

A tote bag

A corduroy or vinyl wallet

Brooches, pins, or buttons (I wear these every day!)

Something with an octopus on it

Anything with anatomical lungs screenprinted on!

Something you think I'd like based on my wists (http://www.wists.com/catchstars)

A surprise!

Happy birthday to all of the other June craftsters, and thanks to anyone who sends me a birthday present Cheesy

* a stripey or argyle sock monkey  thank you bambidandi!

*flaxseed hot/cold pack (if it were scented with peppermint it would be that much sweeter)

* Anthropologie-inspired capelet (with a brooch would be a super extra bonus)

*a lap quilt or DIY kit to make one...any color scheme....even simple squares would be great... i would so do a happy dance and be your best friend if you grant this one....

*a surprise - maybe something with glittery stuff... rhinestones in particular, but glitter does make everything better (it might be fun if you wanted to make me a maternity t-shirt...i just found out im pregnant...and there honestly is very little sparkly maternity stuff out there...i would probably wear a med or large ... though nothing tacky please - i would never be able to pull off "knocked up" or something like that  )

*DIY felting kit with roving

*a learn tatting kit

*a trifold knit kit like this: www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=82733.60

*a velvet scarf like this  ( https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=65841.0 ) with some kind of retro or cutesy theme would also make me very happy

*geometric mod fabric

*i so covet a set of these glasses : https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=86122.0

*Resin Bracelet or Jewelery

*microscope slide necklace kit (i already have a soldering iron) or any of the bits and pieces (especially the slides and/or lead free solder) thank you mub!

*DIY kanzashi kit or anything kanzashi really

*fabric belt with the little hidden zipper inside

*fun knitting stitch markers

*anything in the flavor of my wists stuff

it will make me super happy for any birthday-ness that you would send me...i just love birthday time (i always tell my husband i should get birthday month instead of day...but im lucky to get eek out a full weekend)...thank you so much to anyone who helps extend my birthday Smiley
