I was so inspired by the collage jewel necklace (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=80184.0) that I decided to try my hand with it.  I came up with this nifty idea of scanning in the jewels then printing them on inket t-shirt transfer paper.  I then cut out individual jewels and ironed them on in a necklace form onto a couple of baby t-shirts (adult t-shirts would look awesome too).  Here's how they turned out.  I haven't washed them yet so hopefully I did a good enough job setting the paper.

Those are awesome!!! I love the look of necklaces sewn right onto shirts or those trompe l'oiel (sp?) shirts that usually have pearls or bows printed on them but I like the colored gems much better. And on baby shirts...very cool indeed...

BRILLIANT IDEA!!!!!

I spent a while looking at gem photos on Google Image search the other night and have amassed enough images to cover the WHOLE BABY!!!

(This idea is going to have to take some thinking, something I am perilously short of right now, at the beginning of summer.)
