I like that peacock purse - I would totally use a purse like that!  Is it knitted?

The black purse is sewn velvet and the other one is a knitted? (sorry I don't knit or crochet)
It is really lovely.

i received from starsonstrings early this weekend!  i would like to start by saying i CANNOT believe this was her first swap!  she did an awesome job.

ok the goods:

everything all together!
she sent a kitty jordy bag, sculpey jenny linskey and pickles the fire cat each in decorated boxes, and a florio cat toy!  oh and a super cute card with a sleeping jenny on the front!

the card!

the clay kitties and boxes on my new yardsaled shelf!

eli chomping on the cat toy!

eli and mario satisfied that florio is beaten.  notice he is face down!

i loved this swap!  i still have a bit of my package left to send to starsonstrings (my sewing machine is baffling me so when i figure it out she will get an extra surprise!) but she received the rest of my package.  i didnt let the cats play with florio until i took pictures (which took me awhile) so they slept in the box in the mean time.  they are very glad you thought of them laura!  thank you for everything!!!

edited to add:  oh my gosh, im a flippin scatterbrain!  i just looked at my swap journal and realized i forgot to send something to starsonstrings!  laura, i am so sorry, you probably looked at your package and thought it was so measley!  i will definitely be sending a makeup package your way!

Nonsense!  I never thought the package was "measley"!  I've already made use of the awesome bobby pins, and the painted tin is *perfect* for all my stray bobbins i have lying around!  I loved my swap package!  Sorry I'm taking so long on the pics - my boyfriend took our digi cam home to take pictures of his mom's new puppy, so I'm waiting for it to return.  I will post soon!

By the way, your cats are freakin' adorable!  I'm glad you're all happy with the package!  I had a lot of fun on this swap, and I've finally been inspired to finish some projects because of this surge of creativity.  Cheesy

ps.  I'm still working on that coptic-bound journal I had really wanted to send you.  It was going to be so cute Sad.  Anybody have any tips on how to get the signatures bound together more tightly?  They just keep falling apart.  Boo.   Cry

I'm not suggesting
I'm any better than I was before
but getting there is half the fun
and I am halfway there
I'm betting
that even though I've got a good headstart
I'd rather be a bitch than be an ordinary broken heart

Oh wow, someone else who knows Pickles, the Fire Engine Cat!  The scary thing is, I saw this topic, thought of Pickles, and thought, "naaah, no one will have used that, too bad tho."  I can only imagine what other books from my childhood will pop up in here.   Cheesy

its from esther averill's series about jenny linsky and other assorted cats.  this book in particular was jenny's birthday book.  i never saw it until one of my students got it from the library and when i read it to the class i was HOOKED.  now i want the whole series!  these are from the 1940s.
