This is the first large bag I ever knit (to completion). I was still honing my knitting skills when I made it and I've improved greatly since then. This was knit a while ago but I figured it was good enough to be my first real project posted on here.

It is knit in an acrylic/wool blend and the top purplish half was originally set to be white. However, it seems that bulky white yarn is like hen's teeth in all my LYSs. I'm still pretty satisfied with it. It's lined with some amazing fabric I bought a year or so ago at Wal-mart for a buck a yard (the pattern is the reason it was dubbed "the acid bag").

simply amazing.. i love the purple at the top.. white would have looked to "odd" (not sure how to put it)

great job!

Thanks!  Cheesy I'm just not much of a purple-y person but I dig it anyway. I was afraid it would clash terribly with the bottom half.

What a great bag and I have that same fabric but blue instead of pink.  It was 50 cents a yard so I bought the two full bolts (haha I'm a little compulsive) and haven't used ANY of it in two years.  Go me.  Your bag just might get me to get off my butt and do something!

I'm pretty german, but I don't speak it or anything. It just kind of comes from a friend of mine who always liked to overexaggerate my german...ness and made fun of my being anal-retentive and really...hard-headed.
