I was checking out walmart 1.00 a yard fabric section They had some football jersey material with the little holes in it . I want to make a curting for the side of the porch to block the sun .I want to use grommets for the top and three at the bottom so I can hook them down with eye  hooks . will that kind on material be good outside ??

I would have to say canvas would be my choice for outdoor fabric. It's nice and durable.  I have seen people go to the Dollar store and pick up cheap shower curtains, too. Because they are cheap they are easily replaced and they are waterproof.d Smiley

I second the shower curtain idea...plus they already have grommets.  If you are looking for something more patterned, you could probably use those vinyl tableclothes people sometimes use outside/inside, depending on whether you could get one long/wide enough...Martha Stewart says they are good for outdoor pillows, though...

Merricat, said Constance, would you like a cup of tea?
Oh, no, said Merricat, you'll poison me.

Not sure if links work in the 'quick reply', but perhaps look into Oilcloth...
