My little sister's highschool graduation is coming up and I decided to put together an album of her growing up. I got a cheapy cheap big photo album at Target and recovered it with a vintage pillowcase- I used spray adhesive, which is AMAZING, fabric pens to outline the flowers, and a glue gun and felt for the inside (to cover the messy edges of the fabric).

My question is this: Should I put her name on the front? I wanted to put just her first name, but I'm struggling with what would look attractive...iron ons, an embroidered patch, stenciled letters...there are too many options! What do you think??

Any suggestions welcomed and very much appreciated!

hmm... her full name you say?  I might suggest just her first initial, in a very scroll-y, gothic type font. Actually, I think that would look really good, with the letter down in the bottom right hand corner.  The curves of the letter would mirror the curves of the flowers.

But what a beautiful job you did. Even without a name or anything, it looks polished and perfect.  Post more pics if you decide to add anything more!

I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile. I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well. I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave. I will work work to elevate you, just enough to bring you down.

I was thinking the same thing- initial on the bottom right corner. Of course, it is beautiful just the way it is. Great job!

very nice. since the fabric has a rather busy pattern, maybe you should get a rectangle piece of fabric (perhaps leftovers from the felt that you used on the inside?) and embroider her name on it, and then put that on the cover? i dunno... that's all i could come up with...

Thanks for the kind words! After this album has sat on my kitchen table for a couple of days, and I still can't think of the PERFECT thing to put on the front, I've decided to leave it as is! I just posted another album that I made, you can see it here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=97399.msg919969#msg919969

I think everyone should make one of these! They are so simple and I've already been able to scratch two things of of my "to make for celebrations" list.

Oh that's Gourgeous, perhaps you could get a small square of similarly coloured fabric to the flowers, print her name in in the colour of the fabric pen you used and put it in the corner? maybe? Or the center.  Huh

That's so beautiful as it is! But an initial in the corner would add a personal touch to the cover without taking over! Lovely work.
