This was a birthday present for a friend's b-day.  The actual hat is crochet, but the logo patch is intarsia knit.  The chart is my own creation.  Thanks for looking.

omg that's awesome! i'm just a huge superhero clothing dork, but batman is rad. where did you get the pattern for the actual hat? or did you make it up? i promised a friend a superman one for her bday. in october of last year. so i think i should get started on that.... anyway great work, and the patch looks really well done as well...

That is soooo awesome! Im always excited to see super hero anyhting. Especially Batman... I always thouht he was the coolest... he was the one without super powers, which gave me hope to be a hero. Haha... told you, dork.  Undecided My boyfriends reaction was mor enthusiastic than mine. Any chance to post the chart?    Either way awesome job!

The hat is a really simple double crochet beanie with a single crochet yellow border.  You could use just about any hat pattern.  I would have knit it, but until I'm done with my hand surgery, knitting hurts and I've had to cut back.  Here's the chart for the logo.  I used increases and decreases for the sides to make it's shape, but you could knit the logo right into a hat.  If you choose to do it like I did, I recommend a ring of single crochet around the edge to make it neat.  There's a larger version if you click on the picture of the chart in my blog.  Thanks!

Edited:  The chart was showing up weird on this forum.  But the one in my blog shows up just fine, so please follow the link in my signature if you'd like the chart.  thanks

Very nice!  I have already saved the chart to my computer.  I think I have a green lantern chart somewhere too.  We should have a super hero knitter party!

That is awesome! I just finished knitting a hat for my brother with the punisher logo on it. I may have to try a bat hat next.

The Bat symbol is knitted in stockinette, so you would knit one row and then purl the next row. Does that make sense?
