I just got my sewing machine unpacked after a really rough move.

So this is the first thing I made for myself because I deserve something with a zombie on it.

Bag is 12 by 10 by 2... It's made from vinyl, lining fabric, d rings, snaps, a zipper, and nylon webbing. The red is clear vinyl which I colored red with a red sharpie. I made the pattern myself but it's just 2 pieces for the flap, 2 outter of vinyl and two inner of the lining fabric. then a strip that connects the sides.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm working on a tutorial on working with vinyl, I hope to have it up soon. I moved into a new place and I'm still unpacking. This was the first thing I was able to sit infront of my machine and make. It felt good, I missed my sewing machine.

If you live in the US, you can buy vinyl online. I get mine from Hancock Fabric, they have an online store and locations. I'm in the process of cutting vinyl for the tutorial. So I'm hoping by Monday or Tuesday I will have it up.

God that is AMAZING- both the design and the execution. It looks totally professional in the sewing but completely unique in the design. So many clever touches like coloring clear vinyl with a sharpie, that transparent blood is the greatest thing! That could be used for so many other projects and styles...Now I am getting an idea for a stained glass effect bag using that method. And I can't get over how perfect all the sewing around the letters is, do you glue the vinyl down before sewing to make it stay put?

I've just gotten really good at holding the vinyl in place while sewing it. When I work on larger projects I will use some drafting or painter's tape. I've tried glue in the past but it will show through the layers by leaving a bump where the glue is.
