so i knitted an earflap hat a month or so ago. it fits and everything, it's just that i used a chunky weight acrylic yarn and i think that was a big no-no, because when i wear the hat, the ear flaps kind of bend upwards! i look like i'm wearing one of those "flying nun" hats!! (image google flying nun and you'll see what im talkin about)

so, i had a fit about it, and in a frenzy i twisted and pulled the earflaps into something that resembles a turnip. i didn't mean to, i swear!

i actually like it better this way. teehee!

That is so cute!

I'd almost want to see the turned-up wimple look that it was before Cheesy

Did you try washing it? I've found that can help to loosen it a bit...

AHAHAHAHA! That expression on your face is priceless. It's like you're daring us to laugh at your turnip.

OMG I love it the way  it is!!

Fell so hard, to make us lose our faith
From what's left you'd figure it out

I like it.

I think if you feel like you screwed-up a knitting project it's best to describe it as "modifying the pattern".  Then apply an adjective like "punk", "kitsch", or "mod".

Screw-up?  What screw-up?

Hot tips, KnitterMa. Hot tips.

Looking at the grumpy photo of you in your punk-turnip hat while listening to your sensitive indie songs on mySpace is blowing my mind a little bit, Ms. lover of Gene Wilder. Juxtaposition!

p.s., that's a sweet New Order cover you've created.

I don't see a turnip. Looks more like something that Genghis Khan would've worn to me!  Grin
