I fell in love with the book Sensational Knitted Socks when I saw it, and I've just finished knitting my first pair from it.  (Not my first pair of socks overall, just the first from this book.)  This is the pattern from page 64...

Yeah...I really recommend this pattern.  The repeat is pretty easy to keep track of, but it's complex enough that it kept my interest. These were on size 1s, and the last time I made socks on 1s, they were in stockinette, and that was BOOOORING!  These felt like they went much faster.

They're beautiful!  I love the co;or and the pattern.  How many hours did they take to make?   It was time well spent.

I'm knitting socks that are stockinette on size 0s!  Or rather, I'm knitting "sock."  Dunno if I'll ever get around to the second one.

That book is awesome, isn't it??  I bought mine with my gift certificate I got for administrative professionals' day, and am making my husband the garter rib socks (on of the first patterns).  I'm looking forward to trying the cable-with-moss stitch (which he also liked, but I want to make those in a solid color), and all of the fair isle socks.

You did a great job.  They look really comfy!

Thank you all!   Smiley

Yeah, I love the book!  I've never really done any fair isle, but the patterns in there don't look too dififcult (and yet form impressive-looking results!).

Sewer Rat - I never feel like I'm able to estimate time spent, because I tend to work in short spurts.  But at a very rough guess...maybe fifteen hours?

That looks like a lovely pattern, and what a great color! Nice work indeed.
