Another birthday craft-work...
On Wednesday, it's the birthday of my dear friend Becky, a fellow book-lover. We both especially love fantasy, but she in particular LOVES Lord of the Rings.
Hence the gargantuan task of... That's right... Sewing the Ring inscription around the collar of a t-shirt.

The front

The back

Detail!

It's just some goldenrod thread, backstitched a lot on a plain white t-shirt. It took a damned long time to stitch! About 6-7 hours. on the plus side, my backstitch is a lot better now...

Feedback welcome Smiley

I am so amazed that you somehow managed to sew Elvish onto the collar of a shirt without going insane first. The end result looks well worth it though. A very original idea, as well. ^^

Oh. My. Ainur.
You're brilliant. I might just have to do that myself. I especially love that if you know what it is, you think it's cool, but if you're completely clueless and see someone wearing it, you just think it's an interesting neckline embroidery pattern.

You get major points.

That must have taken so much patience- I made the mistake of taking a Celtic-looking design off my Rohan bookmark and embroidering that around the hem of a skirt, and it just about drove me batty.  And Elvish is way more intricate! But very cool idea.  Grin

That is truly the most awesome thing I have ever seen.  I am so inspired to put that on the bottom hem of a skirt!
