for some reason i was inspired to start making some more things from polymer clay. so here is what i made today.
sorry for the sorta blurry pictures!

a blue pendent thing it has a flower and stem on the right and a mini flower on the left

a pink pendent with a Calla Lilly and a dragon fly

a little cactus in a pot it is about 3/4 inch tall

and a flower in a pot. a little over 1/2 inch in height

and i was experimenting with transferring printed images on to clay. I forgot to flip the image before i printed them so they are back ward of how they should be. these were really hard to photograph so sorry about the funkiness.

my dog's face

my favorite picture i tookfrom my trip to NYC this past summer. it is inside the Met (metropolitan museum of art) it is backwards....oh well

well that is all!

Those images on the clay are really cool.

How did you do that, if you don't mind me asking? Smiley

Making stuff is good for you!

well to make the transfers you first need an image printed with a printer that uses toner like a laser printer or you can draw something with pencil. (make sure you flip the image before you print so that it is not backward!) cut out the image so that there is no white border
next you need to roll out a piece of clay larger than the image
place this piece of clay on a ceramic tile and place the picture (image side down) smoothy on top of the clay
next using your finger or a flat clay tool rub the back of the paper so that the paper is "adhered" (for lack of a better word ) to the clay
put another ceramic tile on top and bake for approx 15- 25 minutes

when done take out of the oven and when it is cool to the touch carefully take the image off of the clay DO NOT take it off when it is hot or else it ruins the transfer (i found this out the hard way).
that is all!
if you need clarification on anything don't hesitate to ask!

Cool! ...love the transfers (....don't worry, your dog won't know he's been reversed, or he'll just think he's looking in a mirror!  Grin)

I really think it's great to be able to use one's own images to make transfers with... since I was once into photography, I have loads of them just waiting for a large expanse of time (that'll probably never occur...sigh).   I have turned some of them into appliques, screen prints, and at least one t-shirt transfers though (so I guess I have already "transferred," one of them, come to think of it, just not to clay).

( tamara-loves-monkeys, there are loads of different ways to transfer images to polymer clay --both directly and as intermediate "decals".  If you're interested in checking them all out, look on this page at my site:
