I didn't think I would get such a wonderful bunch of comments!!  thanks so much...  Cool

To answer a few questions:

The wool was given to me by my mum.  I think it was 'cleckheaton' or something similar, from Australia (i'm sorry I threw away all the wrappers  Embarrassed .)
It's 8 ply, 100% wool & I'm sorry I don't know what that is in US terms & I used 4mm straight needles.

To be honest I sort of fudged the design & didn't keep notes.  I looked at the original design & did it all by sight.  I decided on the shaping as I went along.
I guess a top down raglan style would be the next best thing..... even though I made mine in separate pieces, it would come out the same (?).  Just add a simple crochet neckline of your choice.

I'm so sorry I can't be more helpful with it.
I think from now on I will keep notes and the wrappers!!

The crochet at the top is a nice touch.  Well done!

oh shucks.... thanks  Cheesy

I forgot to mention, and if anybody is interested, I used the same lace edging as
the original.  It doesn't look like it, but believe it or not, it is!
