it's really cool going back and forth from the original to the new version.

First off, credit to the origional artist: J.M.W. Chrznoska.  This is a print of his/her painting that I bought for $2, it's stapled to a big piece of cardboard.  I carried it several blocks against the wind in a garbage bag to protect it from impending rain.  I'm pretty short and a few times I thought I might launch mary popins style!
So this was a great peice to begin with but it was pretty scratched up.  My first thought was to do a Virgin Mary or Mexican saint style re-vamp.  I did the halo but also gave it an art deco feel.  Lots of layers of Gesso, acrylic paint, gel pens and a spot of copper glitter glue on each pearl.  Oh and I also turned the water into wine! I'm more of a sewing person than a painter and this was a big surface. So I was challenged but I had fun, I hope you like!
