they're not the cardboard kind, they're foam. i dont want them to go to the dump. Any ideas?

They're not even very good for starting seeds because they won't decompose. 

But you can use them to organize little things:  beads, buttons, earrings.

If you ship stuff, foam egg cartons are as good as bubble wrap for filling up empty spaces in a carton while gently cushioning the contents.

I know this is an old thread but I didnt think a new thread was necessary, I have a cardboard carton and a large plastic egg carton and want to make something useful to. You should also know I live in a student flat (for only one more month YES!!) so cannot plant things so well

I made chicken and little bird masks out of cardboard egg cartons. I guess this would work for foam, too.
Unfortunately I can't find the pics, or make new ones.
Oh, and you could probably make little party hats.
