I want to make some shorts and summer clothes for my son he is a toddler~ Anyways I thought I would start out with some shorts cause a long time ago I made some shorts for myself and they came out nice and were pretty simple to make! Any suggestions for patterns or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks~

Pick up a copy of Kwik Sew's Sewing for Toddlers by Kerstin Martensson. It is a book, but has both instructions and a master pattern in multiple sizes. The patterns include entire toddler wardrobes, appliques, etc - the "new" price is ~ US$20 - you may be able to find a used copy floating around, or maybe at the library.  If you trace the patterns onto paper or other tracing substance, the book will last you until your son grows out of toddlerhood.

There are similar KwikSew books for Baby and Children. KwikSew patterns in general have great instructions, are multisized, and are waaaaay nicer in reality than the awful pencil drawings - the book is a better deal than the individual patterns.

i agree - I just made a dress for a friends baby out of Kwik Sew's baby book, and it was (a) easy and (b) really cute. The patterns in that book will last for a long time, and I am looking forward to doing something different in another size when she grows out of this dress... I bought it at Amazon and I think it was pretty cheap.
