I was commissioned by my best friend to knit a pair of funky, fluffy novelty yarn house socks for her mother. I found one decent shot of what I'm looking for http://www.crystalpalaceyarns.com/cpy/patterns/cotton_chen_whisper_slipprs.html (hideous, aren't they?),  but I hate the idea of kitting the socks flat. Anyone else ever stumble on some hideous fuzzy house socks?

Chuck Norris does not knit. He bangs the table, and the shockwaves force the yarn to create clothing.

wow! those really are hideous! wouldn't want those at all!

ummm as for the pattern. why not just take any old sock pattern and use the ugliest novelty yarn you can find. maybe a sock pattern that isn't complicated so that it doesn't cause problems when trying to knit it. unfortunately, i know nothing about knitting socks so i can't really help you out much on this. good luck!
