hey .. i'm not sure if this counts, but today while dying some t-shirts in my laundry room . .which is VERY small .. i managed to lock myself in.  it's probably about 7 ft by 7 ft, with a washer and a water heater and a MOUNTAIN of laundry. i managed to get my self locked in for over an hour until i smashed up the door and made a makeshift crowbar out of a bicycle wheel dishing tool. all the while the cats are taunting me by going in and out of their cat door, and it was about 85 degrees today . . we live in an old house . . cat allergies + heat + claustrophobia = lame . .

the whole time my cell phone rang like 4 times, and i was helplessly trying to call out to the neighbors to help me . . . but as a freaked out white girl, it's really hard to think of how to say "Help me!! i'm locked in my laundry room, call my husband" in spanish.

i hope this counts as i WAS crafting at the time . .  btw t-shirts came out fab .. but i'm still not sure it was worth it.  Wink

Think you can handle it?
yea, i didn't think so . . .

Oh, you poor thing. Must have been awful! I'm glad you got out ok and that they shirt came out well, wouldn't it have been worse if you'd been locked in your laundry room and ruined the shirt?

Oh man. I would've gone crazy being locked up like that.
The shirts coming out nice = Smiley
Smashing the door = Sad

When I first read this topic I thought "oh thank heaven someone else has a horrible laundry room in need of updating, maybe I can poach some ideas..."
Now that I've read your post I can't help but wonder how we can make your laundry room safer. Tape over the plate, maybe?
Anyway, congrats on the shirts.
