I thought that this would be cool. The ongoing fabric swap is really cool so why wouldn't this be too?

I was thinkig it has to be unused skeins with labels unless otherwise specified and a description.  Also, you have to be able to take pics of it and stuff. What do you think?

That does sound very cool Cheesy, although it sounds harder to organise...like, a FQ of fabric is a FQ (although quality and type differ slightly). With yarn you've got real big quality differences, as well as length/weight, handspun vs commercial vs acrylic vs frogged sweaters etc. etc.

I'm sure it could be sorted out though! I'm REALLY not a yarn expert at all, so I can't help with ideas in that aspect. I'd love to participate if it didn't end up all 'yard-snobbery-ish' ya know? Wink It does need to be fair though...

Very interesting! Smiley

I did have this big long message typed out but my stupid computer decided to close the window I was working on. stupid computer Tongue

I forgot what I said but it was along the lines of

You couldn't expect red heart acrylic for lornas laces. Like in the fabric swap you have a miniumum leanght or whatever of fabric to offer so I was thinking that you would have to offer/pick at least 100g or 3.5 oz worth of yarn since skeins usually come in 50g or 100g skeins. Handspun is welcome if not highy desirable and that you would have to offer at least three or four choices of the nicer quaility yarn. Also, you would have to have a minimum of 8 choices for variety. By nicer quaility yarn I mean, non acrylic or one of the nicer acrylics like Encore. How does that sound?

I think this idea has some definite potential. I'll be keeping my eye on it.
