I am a frequent crocheter but i hadn't ever worked with crochet thread and a tiny needle. I found a cute doily pattern, i believe its called "petite pineapples", and had some fun with this today. I was thinking about making a few of these and putting them in frrames with cute mats and making art for my walls!

anyways here it is, my first doily

the color never comes out perfect on these photos, but its a bright, pretty pink, not mauve

What a wonderful doily!

I've made many doilies and find them very relaxing (usually) and fun to make.  They are what I make when I need something small between larger projects.

I have made some doilies and 'framed' them by attaching them to metal rings and hanging them on the wall - very dramatic looking.

Many years ago my Mother used to crochet doilies - her favourite pattern was the pineapple pattern.

Oh - great job by the way.

I LOVE that pattern!  I've made three (and a half!) Petite Pineapples.

I'd love to make something lacey like that and make a dressy shirt out of it for church/dress-up occassions.  Also, have you though of maybe sewing the doilies together for a tablecloth or curtains, because that would be neat to have a polkadotted doily tablecloth.   Shocked

i really like the idea of doily curtains, i wonder if any patterns exist for such a thing or if i would just have to make a ton of doilies and do it myself

Love your doily! I really need to learn how to crochet more than granny squares.
