Wow, I love the design on the edges!

MmmmKnits, I think we may be long-lost twins. I've also been watching a lot of Buffy while working on Samus... season 4 in fact. By the time I get to the edging, though, I'll probably be on to season 5.

Hooray for Joss Whedon shows + knitting!

rebeccajane, that is too funny! Hooray indeed. I think for the next sweater I make, I'm going to see how long it takes me to knit as measured in Buffy episodes--you know, start at the beginning of the series and see how old everyone's gotten by the time I bind off.  Smiley

That's gorgeous! I love the mods with the shaping, too. Very smart.

That is such a beautiful pattern - and not too fussy either! The colour is amazing also.

very pretty!!!  I like your "mistake".  It gives it character!  (mistakes prove that we did it ourselves, I always say!)  Both Knitting On The Edge, and Knitting Over The Edge are totally worth having in any knitter's library!  I got them for my Birthday, and was a very happy little girl.

Debbies only get respect in the knitting world.  How unfair is that?

Because Poe wrote on both of them.

Anyone up for a Jasper Fforde swap?

I love love your Samus !!!  Didn't hit me as a must have when I first saw it (kind of prefered the Kepler), but now I'm thinking I might seriously need to make one !!! And the colour you chose is so perfect ! Really flattering and feminine.
Like somebody said, I like your "mistake", looks nice... I bought knitting on the edge the other day and it's such an inspiring book !!

Guess I have to bookmark your mods as well, the shaping really does add to the pattern !  Great job !

Beautiful! I really liked this pattern when it first came out, but I was busy working on other things and it just kind of fell to the background. I think this is the first finished "real life" version of it that I've seen, and it has renewed my interest! I think this is going to the top of my list, and I will definitely try the waist shaping as well. Great job and lovely color!

I love your Samus, gorgeous colour. I would love to do this if I could just get over my fear of putting zips in.

Oh me too! That's the major reason I haven't already made this sweater. But one of my goals for this year is to knit something that involves a zipper, so....

ultraviolet and anybody else who wants to see more Samuses, there is a Samus knitalong blog at http://samusknitalong.blogspot.com. It hasn't seen much action lately, but check the archives.

I'm also feeling a bit too chicken to wrestle with installing a zipper, which is why I think the hooks and eyes might be an easier solution. I think they'd fit the shape of the sweater really well. But knowing how much I love procrastinate about finishing things, I probably won't work up the energy to install a closure of any kind until the weather starts turning chilly again.  Roll Eyes

Anyway, thanks for your kind comments, everybody! This is the first time I've posted a FO to craftster, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the positive response.  Smiley I will try to contribute more in the future.
