This purse is made of vintage upholstery fabric and is embellished with vintage gold buttons, rick rack, and ribbon. The interior is lined with an old fashioned looking cotton quilt fabric and is also interfaced with quilt batting for extra support. The handles are brown corduroy with a faint pink that shows through the ribbing. The two front buttons and a ribbon loop create a nice closure for the purse.
The size is about 13"w x 8"h (18"h with handles). You can see the rest of my work at www.tinanealis.com.

Thanks for looking!

oooh that's gorgeous, the colors all looks so great together
the gold buttons and ribbon make it totally adorable!
something I'd use, even though at 16 I'm nowhere near being a granny yet!

Granny style is so hot. Everything they do is just so right. except, like, muumuus and orthopedic shoes. anyway, thats a lovely lovely bag. How did you do the straps/ top binding? i can almost picture it but not quite. it looks fancier than just sewing it and turning it inside out, because of that outside seam... i always get confused right about handle time.

roxybadoxy and Lesa25: thank you so much!

vampirategurrl08: thanks girlie! yea you definitely don't have to be a granny to rock the granny purse.  Grin

weeza: aww..well thanks. not quite sure if it's THAT original, but i appreciate the comment! are you a weezer fan too?

cutout: i've been wanting to do granny style purses for sometime. it's a lot more intricate and i finally found a print that i liked! the handles are easy..it's like binding a quilt. i can't exactly explain it with out sounding confusing, but i'm sure you can find it in a search.

Your purse is really beautiful. You should enter it in the spring contest.
