hmm, didn't think about it being more fancy than the reception mood... i just hope we can get about 50 chairs that match.
do you think people would really notice if they didn't, anyway?

If you can't get 50 to match, then try mismatching most of them.  That way it looks intentional!

They might, but I have to tell you, I have no idea what the chairs we used really looked like, you know, individually. I mean, there is so much else going on and most of the time that people are near chairs, they have their butts on them. We debated with the people we rented from about the more expensive, nicer looking, less comfortable chairs and the cheap but more comfortable chairs that had been banged up a bit and they said they had never heard of anyone complaining because the chairs were ugly, or mismatched, or a little dinged up. I chose to believe them and sure enough, no one said anything about them at the wedding. I'd only stress over it if they were, like, covered in cow poop or bigoted graffiti or something else really offensive.

Hahah Bon, you made me lol. Smiley I can honestly say, I saw now cow poop or graffiti on the chairs. Soooo I think we're good. Plus, this is gunna be friends and family and they know we're on a budget so I don't think they'll be jerks and be like "Oh em gee, did you see thekster's chairs? They didn't match! Gasp!"

Unless it's a super formal ballroom type setting, I think you'll be totally okies with no covers and mismatching.

Our tables sat 8 (4 to each side) and we put two tables in a row, smooshed up next to each other.  We used one centerpiece per table, 2 per row.  They were totally random, though.  We put one near an end of a table, one in a middle of a table, another near a different end, etc.  It was a nature lodge and they were branches, so I wanted them to look like they randomly "fell" around the room.  Oh, the crazy things that went on in my head during wedding planning. Cheesy

One table didn't have a centerpiece at all.  Instead, we laid out all of the kiddies coloring books, crayons and toys there.

someone here on craftster had a super cute one.  and she was offering up instructions on how to make them so i had her pm me the instructions for the birdcage one.   turns out i won't be using it, because it doesn't go with my dress, but it was super cute and sounded really easy.  let me see if i still have the pm and can track down the picture.

ETA: ok i lied. i had her send me the instructions for the french flyaway, which is also uber cute.  but the thread is here

dellastella - your invites are pretty! I love the brown. And it's common for people who have more than one event planned to include them all on 1 RSVP card. There are lots of examples on flickr (and I saw some in Bride's mag) but here's one I thought was cute: http://www.flickr.com/photos/seeminglee/1332773083/. It's simple, and could be a good option for you.

Banga, that RSVP idea on flickr is so awesome!  Cheesy  Thanks for the suggestion. I hadn't even thought to check flickr, but I'll definitely be looking now!
