Our wedding is October 20, 2007.
We're going to Japan for the Month of April too! I need to start now so when we get back its not like everything all in 5 months!

Any ideas for centerpieces. OUr recption in a rustic german returaunt brew haus (they brew there own beer there!) But the reception is in the afternoon and the main dinning room area is pretty bright. So im going to do some small tea lights i think its a nice touch. But i need to think of somethign for the cp's The tables are long.  i was thinking of not doing fresh flowers so i could do them in advance and not have to worry about them.

I f u need any advice or help... let me know.. I had an October wedding as well....

vaguelyvogue! You reminded me of more things I want to make! I love the bathroom baskets concept. It's so nice to go into the bathroom and be surprised with all the necessities. I bet you could find some really amazing supplies/ items to augment your wedding with in Japan!

And... a question for all of you. Do you think that  beaded tossing bouquet would potentially blind someone forever? Wouldn't that be kind of funny/ worst thing ever... "soo.. how'd you come by that hot pirate eye patch" "well, you see I caught the bouquet"  Grin

vaguely vogue
- stain remover wipes or like tide-to-go ould be good, hair ties (just simple ones, but in case someone came with their hair down and wants to put it up (really only if youre having dancing), some aspirin, and make sure (whether in the basket or just the bathroom) to have plenty of kleenex!!

centerpeice ideas are so numerous, and whats sterling said is true-it just depends on what you like.  Im doing tissue paper flowers for the bouquets, etc., but Im certainly not doing them for centerpieces (they take FOREVER!!), so my centerpieces are all flower-free, and Im doing a few different kinds of centerpeices.  In keeping with our non-traditional colors (cherry red, orange, and melon green), one of ours is orange goldfish in little owls with green rocks at the bottom.  Another one is a large glass vase with pieces of matching fuit in it.  The third is just a ring of votive candles handpainted in just different little designs, but with the colors.  And all of these are on large mirrors (supplied by my reception site), so things are going to be pretty cheap.  We're also-instead of rose petals-putting Skittles (in our colors) on the mirrors also-very colorful and very inexpensive!!

But seriously, there are TONS of things you can do, especially when youre crafty!!

I really want to knit wire beaded baskets to use as candle holders. Similiar to the one in this link, but I want to add beads and make it taller to use as a centerpiece.

http://www.23hq.com/everyfiber/photo/495285

Is that safe? The beads are glass, Im slightly afraid the metal will get too hot.

Anyone have any patterns for something similiar? I have one from an old knitting magazine, but I'm going to have to modify it because I'm not too keen on it.  Smiley

And if anyone has any other ideas, please let me know!

I love this list!

Our wedding is August 24th.  Here's what I'm crafting

Invitations (I bought a kit and I'm also thinking about stamping)
Save the dates (need to do this soon!)
Programs
Flowers (only one bouquet for me - bridesmaids will carry single flowers)
Centerpieces (totally not sure what I want here!)
Favors
Web page (before the save the dates go out!)
Church decorations (no idea yet!)

We're also going DIY on the music, so I need to start gathering playlists.  We were originally going for October, but since we've moved it up to August I'm in planning overdrive!

Hi everyone! I been loving following along on this list and getting inspired by y'all's hard work!

I'm getting married July 28, and here's the plan so far:

to craft:
save the dates (designed and printed at modernpostcards.com)invites (design, print at Kinkos, assemble and stamp)
programs (design, print at Kinkos)
escort cards
card box
favors (probably a bunch of toys ordered on oriental trading, packaged together all pretty)
bathroom baskets
out of town bags

DIY:
flowers and centerpieces (probably just a ton of tulips ordered online)
makeup and hair
decorations at reception

DIY, someone else:
friend is doing music at reception
my grandmother is making sashes for me and the bridesmaids

Maybe:
Knit a chuppah/canopy for the ceremony
Making gifts for the 'maids
Making my jewelry if I can't find something I like

I'd love to see some pics of what people are making!
