Nice! I totally understand. I did 50 by hand for our Chicago wedding/reception, and another 110 by hand for our Michigan reception. They look great though, so it was worth the time!

I've been engaged for a few months now have finalized the date and place.  I'll be married on October 11, 2008 which is the Canadian Thanksgiving.  Our church is at the University of Toronto where we met, and our reception will be at a banquet hall.  We're having a traditional turkey dinner with pumkin pie for dessert.  Here's a list of what we are planning on doing ourselves!

-jam for each family which will double as a seating card (to be made by my mother)
-wedding dress (hopefully made by my aunt and grandmother)
-boutoneirs (groom, 5 ushers, one father, two grandfathers, and eight uncles)
-centre pieces (baskets of apples/wheat sheaves tied with brown ribbon)
-invitations
-thank yous
-menu cards
-programs
-colouring books and gift bags to keep the 15 kids busy
-some sort of container for envelopes
-alternative to guest book
-decorations for the head table and table with cake on it

Wish me luck!

All cut up, that sounds lovely!

Pumpkin pie at the reception may just be the most brilliant idea in the history of weddings.  Grin

Just an FYI for those of you making your own invites:  I made a rather irritating mistake on my RSVP cards.  I did not put any identifying info on the cards, nor did I include return addresses of the people sending them.  I had a place on the back for folks to write in the names of those coming (so I can write up placecards and whatnot).  Well, I've gotten a few "declined" responses back with no info whatsoever that tells me who it was!  Doh!  I'm guessing based on the postmark and who I know can't come.  But yeah, if you don't want to print every single return address on your rsvp envelopes (or postcards), maybe put a small number on top so you can keep track of who has what number.  It's been an annoyance for me.  Not critical, but not something I had considered until I got a few "mystery" RSVP's.  Smiley

We did the number on the RSVPs and it saved my butt at least twice! Great idea!

Now, if only there were a way to magically figure out what people want to eat when they didn't circle any of the meal options... Cheesy

Here's my list...I think. I keep finding more stuff I want to do, and then finding out there's no need for others I want to do. Who knows what this shindig will end up looking like? As long as we get married, most everyone has a good time, and I get my vacation after this, I'll consider it a success. So, what to do before Sept. 22, 2007...

- centerpieces
- candy buffet table (signage, glassware, favor boxes)
- guest book table (signage, postcards, etc.)
- linen accents for cake table, guest book table, candy buffet, and maybe as part of the centerpieces?
- bridesmaid bags w/goodies
- river rock aisle? (if we can get a ton of river rocks, still not sure if that will happen)
- programs?
- some of the flowers

at least i lucked out and have an awesome site...

ceremony:

reception: half of room, from the entrance

other half of room

yeah, sorry, not great pictures of the reception site. not sure how i managed that.
