i made this for batgirl in the tree swap.  i loved it so much i nearly kept it!  the main body is knitted, and then to do the tree i braided, split, and braided wool yarn and needle-felted it on.  i wasn't sure if that would work but it was easy, just a little tougher on the fingers.   Roll Eyes

a little dark, but the colors are true.

Great use of needle felting - It really is amazing what can be done.  Wonderful idea and it sure turned out well.

Super how the tree coordinates with the lining.

i LOVE THE LINING TOO.... I think that it is so great when projects follow the theme throughout...so many people neglect lining, so kudos to you!   Smiley

My best friend is obseesed with trees....I'm jealous that I can't go out and buy a bag like that for her.

I truly love it.

If it rhymes....it must be true.

thanks!  i love linings too!  they can be a neat surprise or a bit of fun in an otherwise serious bag.  i bought the lining fabric at hancock before the swap even offically started with plans for it as a bag.  and then i spent forever trying to pick out yarn to match from knitpicks...and was quite a bit off, but they didn't clash, so hey.
