Hey guys! Business online hasn't been great for me lately, and I'm thinking it's probably because of my site. I'm working on getting all of my images to match (100x100 thumbnails with a black border), and I need better images, period.. but other than that, I'm not really sure what can be improved upon. I know the top banner isn't great, but with my lack of skills in graphics, I honestly think that that's about the best it's going to get. What have I missed? Is the navigation okay? The item descriptions? Do the images take too long to load? Is the FAQ too skimpy? Could it be the products themselves that are the problem? Maybe the prices? Heh, anything at all you can help me with would be so much appreciated!

mabe you should change the white background and add some colour and mabe a free item for spending a certain amount of money would help and you should think about a surfing sorta beach theme when desinging the website to attract more teenagers make offers to attract them and they'll start buying stuff  Smiley

OO i think

I really like your webby, its really easy to navigate and the colour scheme really works well!  Dont be so hard on yourself Smiley I really like the top banner. I personally dont find anything wrong with it. Maybe the graphic on the left [the leafy thing ] could be a bit crisper, I find it a bit blurry but other then that its pretty unique! I dont think the prices etc are a problem they seem to be pretty reasonable and affordable. Maybe the text in the 'meaning of colours and stones could be worked with a bit. Even though all the text on other pages are aligned to the left, because the lines on that page dont go all the way across it seems like its squished into the left hand corner. Other then that I think the webby looks awesome.

Im not really to much help with getting traffic to the sight. Im having a bit of a problem with that myself , but I cant really do to much at the moment. [im in the middle of moving bleh]. Have you submitted your url to different search engines? Google etc. Google  [which i never thought was so complicated] judges the importance of your webby by how many other websites link to yours, the more that link to yours the higher your sight comes on the google listing. When you search on google for something the first that comes up is the one most people will click on due to that sight having a higher rating then other people. The more important google thinks you are the more people will visit your sight . [ I hope thats not confusing, or if you already knew that ignore me Smiley ] I guess somehow you need to get more people to the webby and hopefully they will like what they see Smiley and buy from you. Although I guess that may be the problem you are having now? Anyways I hope i was helpful in some way, good luck with the webby. Smiley

Olive has some excellent advice. I also like seeing jewlery on people but I do like the pictures against the stone background. I'm not very keen on the black banner. Feels negative to me.

good luck!

Olive's suggestions are definately good ones. Also rahrah's suggestions to keep things bright and positive. Maybe change the black background in the top banner to a purple. Additionally, change the background in the navigation bar to another purple. Experiment to see if it works better with the darker purple on top or on the side. I'm thinking that the same color would look too much like a frame and it would look awkward if the frame didnt' complete itself on the other two sides.

Clear, consistantly framed images showing the whole product, with an inlay to show a detailed image of the charm will help people know exactly what they're getting.

Rather than saying shipping is included in the price of the item say shipping is free within the US. Also, make some rough estimates of how much shipping costs to other countries and add a section in the faq with this information.

The last suggestion I have is to make it personal. In the FAQ, don't be afraid to use I or me instead of the person who. If you want to stress what roles you perform, say, Since I do such and such, you will be blah blah blah.

Good, clean site design overall, though. These are certainly not make-or-break suggestions. If you're looking for more sales, you need traffic. Work out link exchanges and read up on search engine placement. Google actually uses both how many people link to you as well as how many pages you link to to rank your page. And links to and from higher ranked pages help you more than links to and from unpopular pages. Also consider printing up some business cards and asking to leave a stack in stores that your audience might go to. In short, get your name out there. People can't buy things from you if people don't know you're there.
