I have *no* idea thow to crochet. I can knit - well - I can do a basic knit stitch and make it a scarf - I cant even purl. I tried to crochet once, I could get a little bit going but then I put it down and never picked it up. I want to learn how to crochet so I can make lil amigurumi toys! Are they hard?

Have you seen the current crochet me issue? - http://www.crochetme.com/amigurumi
it has some great tips for getting started with amigurumi.

If you are new to crochet you might want to find some tutorials on line for crocheting in a spiral (crocheting w/o joining), sc and how to increasing and decrease in sc.

I personally think amigurumi is pretty forgiving and even if you increase a bit too much  or decrease a bit too much you still end up with something cute.

I have a few patterns on my blog that can get you started too: http://del.icio.us/fiberstar/patterns (this links to my delicous page which will take you to the patterns on my blog)

You can visit my blog here: http://sammimagfiberstar.blogspot.com/

I'd say go for it.  The best way to figure it out is to just do it.
