I've been sewing today and yesterday because I had to hand something in, for I slack off in my textiles class (it's hard to get any work done when the other girls at your table only talk about meeting their trashiness quota and how big their boyfriends' penises are).

I want to call it a lantern dress, because it technically isn't a bubble dress because of the band at the bottom and it gives off more of a lantern shape. Plus, I'm not a big fan of bubble hems. It has pockets and the straps are braided. Not really the best sewing job ever and I don't know how I feel about it yet, but the sewing itch was really bad and I had been playing around with the design since January (seriously, I think I'd done frillions of sketches). Pattern made by me.

it's a beautiful dress and i admire your pattern making skills!
I'm not a huge fan of bubble skirts either but i like this a lot

and your not alone with this:
I've been sewing today and yesterday because I had to hand something in, for I slack off in my textiles class (it's hard to get any work done when the other girls at your table only talk about meeting their trashiness quota and how big their boyfriends' penises are).

i took a sewing class and many of the girls engaged in similar conversation  Sad
i think i might have been permanently scarred.
it was... distracting to say the least.

The boys i mean are not refined
They cannot chat of that and this
They do not give a fart for art
They kill like you would take a piss
They speak whatever's on their mind
They do whatever's in their pants
The boys i mean are not refined
They shake the mountains when they dance

At least you seem to be taking the class seriously.  I hope you get the highest mark over all those other girls, because they obviously don't care.

The dress is great and the stitching looks ok for the most part.  But lets be real, most of us can't duplicate factory "perfection" at home, so all in all I think its great!  And I love the braided straps too.
