Well, I bet all of you guys have heard of this.  I have just done persian waxing/sugaring myself, for the first time, and it was awesome.  Dirt cheap, too.  Anyways, this is a really cheap, effective manner of hair removal, and it's not nearly as hard as I thought.
Here's the link I used.
http://frugalliving.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=frugalliving&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocities.com%2FAthens%2FDelphi%2F6011%2Fhair.html

So try it!
It's crazy fun for you machocists.  Yep, I can't spell.

I've never done normal waxing, so I can't say about that.  I didn't mind the armpits at all.  My legs hurt a bit, but I'd do it again, no problem.  It was no big deal.
I guess it depends a little on your pain tolerence, and how you feel about pain.  I sort of like a little pain, makes life exciting Wink
Anyways, I'd give it a try, unless you are really sensitive to pain.

They do this all over the Middle East, that and 'threading' a strange but effectual way of removing hair by running a twisted peice of thread over the hair. This is substantially more painful.

The sugar 'wax' is also rather tasty, provided it hasn't been used already Wink

I have done this for years.
I find it better to take the syrup off the heat just as it changes colour.
and I only make 1 cup at a time that way you use it up fast.
I do mine and my daughters all the time.
tis cheap and great and easy to clean up after

and also called sugaring

i never thought of making it yourself..im not sure i can give myself a bikini wax or do my underarms..and i dont want josh to try it either!!! hahaha..what a mess!
