I wanted to buy those personalized guitar picks but cost something like at least US$45 and just have one colour printed on them.  I then saw a website which had photos on the picks and I thought, heck, I can do that!!  So here they are:

Yes, that last one is me pole dancing!!!  I took a class last year  Smiley  These picks I am doing for my husband for Christmas.  The other two are our kids!!

I firstly cut photos slightly smaller than the picks and glued them on using Diamond Glaze.  I then used a two part polyurethane resin (AUD$16) and "dobbed" the resin on top then letting the resin self level.  I now have to heat set them in the oven.  The guy who sold me the resin assured me the picks will be usable  Grin Woo Hoo.

Those are amazing! Your kids are so cute!

Now I wish I knew someone who played. It probably isn't quite worth the effort for earings or a necklace though huh? Great job!!

This is the first time I have used resin so I don't know much about them.  I work in Newtown (Sydney, Australia) where there is a casting and resin supplier.  It's their brand called Barnes but it has labelled on it "WC782" and the description is "water clear polyurethane".

The guy in the store was EXTREMELY helpful and this was the product he recommended when I told him what i wanted to do.

Hope this helps!   Wink

I absolutely love it.  They look like you bought them from a store.  I am definately going to have to try that sometime.
