Seeking hip young/old crafters in the Nashville area that would be interested in starting a stich and bitch.  My friend and I are looking to get together in a friendly, crafting community atmosphere to share cool new ideas, work on our current portable projects (she's a knitter and I am a sockmonkey maker) and hopefully learn some new crafts.

We were thining along the lines of meeting publicly in coffee houses first and then maybe taking turns hosting at our houses.

Let the crafty revolution a la Nashville begin!  Let me know what you think, what has worked and failed in the past, any bright ideas or inspiration...I have hit a roadblock in terms of how to get the word out there.

thanks, guys!

i live in portland, or right now, but will *most likely* be moving to nashville area in a few months. we just came back from a visit there and i was trying to figure out where the yarn stores and SnBs are!

if you end up getting a lil something together, please post again about it because i'd love to join once we're in town for good! i'm gonna miss my portland coffee store/yarn shop SnB group terribly... Cry

We have a Thursday night bunch that meet at The Stitchin' Post in Berry Hill from 5-8pm.  Most folks do cross stitch, some do other forms of embroidery, there are knitter, crocheters, and a gal that does bobbin lace.  Pretty much anything goes.  I've even sewn book signatures.

And then there's another group that meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at St Bartholomew's church in Green Hills.  This is pretty much an any craft goes kind of group but mostly the same folks and crafts as from the every Thursday night bunch.  They meet from noon to 5pm.

The folks that attend range from late 20's to early 60's, mostly 30's and 40's.  We don't bite.  Grin

Poppy, come on by when you get settled. Smiley  As with any group, there are both outgoing and introverted types and we respect and welcome both.

Jaybirdiscrafty, how far away are you?  Perhaps you could make it to the St B's doodah once a month?

I'm in Fayetteville. Right on the Alabama/Tennessee state line.  I would love to come if I can.

And we'd love to have ya!

If you know you'll be coming up let me know and I'll PM you instructions on how to get there.    It's not far off I-65 on the south side of town.

The gathering for April was this past  Saturday so the next will be in May.

There are a few others at some of the yarn stores, though they kinda intimidate me...

I live near Berry Hill, where is this place you speak of?? And I'd probably make the youngest out of everyone, I'm 18... Tongue

Hi, DM7DragonFyre.  The Stitchin' Post is at 2811 Columbine off of East Iris just a building or two up the road away from the playground.  Here's a link to their web page.  Their phone and email address can be found there.

As I said before we don't bite; come join us on a Thursday evening!  And Pat and Mike aren't snooty.  Smiley  (I've been to some of the intimidating shops so I know what you mean!)
