Oooh, thank you for the instructions! I'll start working on mine asap. I'm thinking of doing some seminole piecing for the front panel, but probably won't get too fancy til I've made a couple.

Thanks again, walrus!

I love this skirt ... your fabric choices are great.  Thanks for the instructions and tips on sizing.  You have inspired me to dig through my fabric boxes.  I've been saving a piece of lilac corduroy with a tiny paisley print, and i think this skirt may be just right.

I hope other people who try it post their pictures!

Thanks again for all the positive feedback.. i debated even posting this skirt, bc its a style ive just been making for years and seems real simplistic and plain to me...  but i guess it is something with a lot of play to it... things u could do to alter it and make it more "you."  And i'm also really looking forward to seeing pictures of other people's takes on it  Grin

Oh yay yay YAY!!!!   I've been scouring the net for an easy pattern for a skirt like this.   I NEED a hippie skirt.  Or 2.  Or a dozen.   I was thinking 6 panels, and no couderoy, but I think that shouldn't be too hard to improvise now that you've given me a good starting place.

Could you possibly guesstimate the yardage on this?   I just fired up the sewing machine after about ohhhhhh 15 yrs, so I don't have a stash to play with, I'm gonna have to go buy something.  Eh, maybe I'll just shove the measurements at math geek hubby and let him figure it out for me.

ETA:  I found some really cute fabric on clearance at Walmart, woohoo!  I'm gonna go with the 4 panel after all though I think.  I can work my way up to the 6, but this fabric will do better with 4.  It's dark yellow, with tiny little cherries all over.  Then I got plain red for the other 2 panels.
