does anyone know if there are any glass making or blowing centers in New york City or any of the other boro's? IF so can you please share the names and locations?

yep, try urbanglass.org in Brooklyn. There's someone in Williamsburg also, I can't remember the name for the life of me.

Yeah, urbanGlass is your best bet, especially if it's your first class. If you have free chunks of time- like a day to several weeks to spend upstate-, the Corning Museum offers great lampworking and blowing, and the whole town is oriented around glass.

if you're at an art school right now, you may be able to do a class at Parsons' hot shop; many times there are inter-school consortiums.

The place in Billyburg is 160 Glass @ 160 Berry Street.Looks like a nice place. There are always beaucoup cute guys there, if you like that sort of thing.
