mum's gone out,  i have a day off work and it's way too hot outside to do anything except sunbake. so what do i do? get out the sewing machine...

and made this halterneck wrap thingy lol...

yes, i'm a camera wh-re... lol

w00t, the sewing room mirror shot lol.

it can also be worn like so:

How To...

it started off as a skirt (there was lining stuff, cos it's uber see-through but i cut it off ages ago)

cut down the dotted line, but only on half of the skirt, so it just becomes one whole piece... don't cut through both sides, otherwise you'll have to sew up the back.

you should then have a piece that looks like so:

cut on the dotted lines. make sure you keep the pieces that you cut from the end (with the blue squiggles on them) they are used for the straps.

should now look like this:

the material i used is really thin meshy/sheer see-through stuff and i wasn't about to try and hem the thing properly. so i just zig-zagged twice over the raw edges (including the cut offs for the straps)

sew the rings (i used curtain rings) onto the top corners and then sew the straps onto the rings as well.

it should now be finished.

just in case you need instructions on how to wear the thing...
the back obviously goes around your back...
the straps come under your arms to the front and tie like a halterneck.

then you can either:
(a) cross the front parts (blue dots) over and pin
(b) tie the ends together.
(c) keep experimenting with ways to wear it. Smiley

enjoy Smiley

Hi, I love this top.  This goes on my list of must make projects.  It's funny when I read your post you said how hot it is outside.  That made me double check the date on your post.  When I look outside I see snow and it's cold.  So, you are definetly not from around here LOL  Cheesy!
