That was LSTinVA's idea, just to clarify.
I'm making cookies from pillsbury's ready to bake packages. it says there are over 400 chocolate chips in the package, which means that there are about 100 chips in five cookies because there are 20 cookies in the pack. So a cookie about the size of five regular cookies would be a decent size to put 100 chips in.

When my son was in kindergarten he did a little poster with 100 wasabi peas for 100th day.  His friend did a mobile with plastic pony beads which was a big hit.
A lot of the kids did small foods like cheerios or mini marshmallows.
I don't think he has to get super crafty if he doesn't want to, the whole thing of it is just to get the concept of 100.

You didn't mention how old your child was so I am not sure this is an age appropriate suggestion...you could get 100 thumbtacks with the colored heads and let him poke them into a piece of thick cardboard to make a "mosaic" of something he likes.  To give it a more finished look you could then frame his artwork in an old frame or let him make his own frame.

yes...along with bigmouth, i am curious as to what the person who actually has to do the project has in mind.  the ideas here are excellent, though.

My son had this due today.(1st grade) He made a necklace (his idea) out of beads. He alternated between big pony beads (I think that's what their called, plastic, nasty, colorful beads.) And skull beads. For my son's project, they have to be able to count the items. So the alternating made it easier for him.
They also had to wear something that showed 100, so this did double duty.

I have the other post in this thread about this, My son had his due 2 weeks ago, he did a poster of a 100 photos he took, but some of the other things they had, were a Skittle rainbow, A rock Collection, a can with 100 pennies glued on it called a Penny jar.

Looking for fellow craftsters to share ideas with!

Would it be possible to build an igloo out of sugar cubes?
