Hello,

I don't think anybody's done this so I am giving some ideas and resquesting some ideas from those who know better than I.

So my birthday's the 11th (Valentine baby) and I do have a valentine, but am a bit bored with the traditional fare. So in lieu of this, I want to have a 'broken-heart' Valentine themed party for my birthday. The crafting won't be extensive, considering its a week away and that before long everyone will be drunk and not care (it's my 21st).

So here are some elements:

I'm going to make 'party favors' with candy hearts and kid's card valentines, but on the inside instead of names it will say "You stink," "Loser" etc.

We're going to watch zombie porn (Re-Penetrator, because we're weird and its kind of a romantic antithesis)

Going to buy cheap valentine's decor from Target and break the stringed hearts in half or paint some of it black.

Oh, and the cake my friend is making is a 'naked lady' cake (cut to a female form, with snowballs for boobs, toasted cocnut down below, and split cherries for nipples)

Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'll post pictures after the day, thanks!

Some craft stores will stock black silk roses and other black flowers. If you can't find them you can always buy some red ones and just paint them or dye them black.

You could also hang up pictures of famous couples who have broken up or friends who have betrayed each other.

It could also be funny to borrow self-help or relationship books from the library and have them sitting around. Titles like, "How To Get Over a Break-Up" or "He's Just Not That Into You."

I hope you have a great time at your party. It sounds like a lot of fun!

I used to hold a valentine's party for single people. No couples were allowed. My paired-up friends used to say they would break up just or the party! Well, I made broken heart sugar cookies. Once we watched "Fatal Atrractton" the other time "Play Misty For Me." I had party games one of which was a quiz: "Are you a loser in love?" which had questions that would identify those who did lame things in the name of love. I.E "Have you ever ditched your friends to do something boring with your crush" and "Have you ever dona drive-by to see if s/he is home?" The perosn that answered yes to te mst questions got a prize.

A good party favor would be small felt "broken" heart pins with frankenstein and "broken" stitching, maybe safety pins and red paint. All the guests could get them and wear them with pride!

Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas guys! The party turned out awesome. I unfortunately didn't have my digital camera, but it was great. I definitely stole the couple break-ups, and we added twister (since its a 'twisted' party, get it) haha, sorry that was a stretch but there is nothing funnier than drunk people playing twister.
