Just wanted to share pics of my first two crocheted items... sorry if these are kinda boring for you crochet pros!
Here's the scarf:

I love the green color! I used Bernat denim style yarn.
Now the top:

Although I didn't follow the pattern from about.com's crocheting guide exactly, I did take a look at it to get an idea about the general shape. The bottom fringe was made with short pieces of yarn tied around the bottom row of stitches and wooden beads. I think it's a little too skimpy to wear to the grocery store or something but it's a great top to have while lounging by the pool! (I know the stitches are a little uneven, but it's my first attempt and less than perfection doesn't bother me a bit.)
Since I don't have any friends who are into crocheting or knitting, I thought I could share with you all.   Smiley
Thanks !

Ooohh nice, I especially like the top.  Color and accents are great and go together very nicely!

I knit, and have a hard time knitting scarves in the summer, although yours turned out nicely.  I stick to bags and small tops and cat beds and stuff in the summer, no scarves/sweaters!

The halter is inspiring!

(You just started to crochet, and yet you've already inspired another.  Congrats!)

Both the scarf and halter top are lovely. You should be proud. Too bad your friends aren't into it. It's always nice to share your hobbies with friends. But hey, at least you have us at craftster!

Yup, regular old single crochet. Worked on it during the NBA finals ^_^.

Err I just noticed in my first post I put a frowny face instead of a smiley face. Edited! Sorry if I offended anyone there hehe.

very cute halter. I tried to make that top, but my attention span is - hey, that scarf is cute. ha ha . . . yeah. anyway, I ended up using the yarn from my halter to make a little uglydoll and the yarn that was meant for a second one became my best friend's mom's christmas present (in scarf form)

yeah, I thought none of my friends were into crocheting, but it turns out that almost my entire floor is. we like to sit in the lounge and crochet and watch stupid things on MTV. yuck . . . I hate MTV.
