If you've been living under a rock, you might not have heard about the Yarn Harlot's Knitting Olympics.  Read about it here:

Anyway, we definitely need to get a NZ team going!  So who's keen?  Come over to my blog (link below) if you want to join in, and I'll keep track of who's making what, etc.

Also, if you're going to join in, grab yourself one of these: (saving to your own image host please)

I'm in!

I tried to pop over to your blog though, but it didn't work.  I'll stick the button on my blog soon

I'm planning to make this drop stitch shawl from Knitty.  I have the needles and yarn ready to go (haven't picked ribbon yet)

btw, when is the opening ceremony in our time?

A failure is not always a mistake, it may simply be the best one can do under the circumstances. The real mistake is to stop trying.

Ah, that would be because I got the url completely wrong!  Fixed now.

Fairyqueen, the idea behind the Knitting Olympics is that everyone chooses something that will be a challenge to them.  So a challenge for you might be a phone cozy, a hat, a scarf, etc.  I'd really love to see some beginners taking up the challenge!

I looked at the TV schedule for the Olympics, I think it starts very early in the morning of Feb 11.  Then finishes very late at night on the 27th.  I'll try and get a better idea of times as the Olympics draw closer!
