I saw this one on that website (whose name I know forgot) that sells those inspiration images. Except they're de-inspiration. You know, like the photos of a mountain climber, with the words "Courage" and then a short quote on it.

Anyway, this one has a rose as the photo. The words in big letters were "DESTINY" and then in smaller print "You were meant for me." And then in yet smaller print "Perhaps as punishment."

I love that one, and it's so apt for Valentine's. I'm going to use it as my card for my boyfriend - we have that weird sense of humor.

I also like the images of cupid, dead on the ground, shot with one of his arrows. I think the image would look great on the front of the card, and then inside could just be a simple "Happy Valentine's Day."

I just realized both my ideas are sort of anit-Valentine.

Here are a few more, courtesy of my little bro:

  • I made you this card...mostly because I am protesting against those capitalist pigs at Hallmark.
  • In this pathetic excuse for an economy, I decided to make you a Valentine's card.
  • I didn't feel like fighting the blue hairs in the card aisle this year.
  • This card contains 30% more love than your average Valentine.
  • It's time to learn how to properly operate the Washing Machine.
  • And just think, no elementary school teacher made me give you this card!
  • Valentine, I am not fast enough to catch that little cherub and strangle him with his own arrows.
  • Error 404: Heartfelt sentiment not found
  • I only tolerate this stupid day to get the clearance chocolate the following week.
  • The crappy chocolates are big buisness' way of subtly laughing in your face for falling for their marketing ploy.

Most EXCELLENT!     Cheesy

Perhaps the second 'hey you're someone I should get to know' conversation I had with my SO was about how sickening we find the commercialism of VD. (It didn't help that we were working in a mall and got to hear people moaning: "I've gotta get him/her something good or s/he'll kill me!" -- Why the hell would you want to be with someone who rates you by your purchasing power??)

Thanks for the antidote!!   Wink

I think for guys, computer game themed cards go down well.

I've made my boyfriend a "Valentine, will you be my player 2?" card that i found in a google search (i just copied the design but with pretty pens and stuff) The card has 2 Wii remote controllers, with the little blue lights lit up for players 1 and 2 (Wii fans will know wot im talkin about).

So yeah, anythin relating to consoles, or Mario/Sonic, old school games, World of Warcraft etc. goes down well Smiley
