Ok, when I joined this board back when, I promised I'd post a tut for making the pocketchangers.  Here it is, finally.  I hope you enjoy making these, but please don't make these to sell, as it is my unique product and I'll be pissed if I show up at a craft show and see someone else selling it!  Ok?  Thanks!

*edit on 2/12/07*

I guess I was not specific enough.  Now that I see them on etsy.com (rather than craft shows) I have pulled the tut.  I don't mind sharing the info, but I'm too territorial, I guess, when it comes to selling the things.

Sorry about that, folks.  I'm sure that plenty of folks will now post how to do them, anyway.

Hey!  I don't have a kid, but this looks like a handy project.  Except, I don't really know what they are?  Do you sit the kid's butt on the towel when you change her?  Are the outside pockets to hold the diapers?  Won't they fall out?

Lots of moms on this list -- I'm sure they need something like this!

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I'm not a mom and I don't plan on being anytime in my near future or even late future for that matter, but these would make excellent gifts for expecting or pregnant moms. It would be nice to make them a diaper bag with one of those as a little extra or just alone it would still be a nice gift.

Cute and practical.

This is a really cute idea- I saw something like it on a Martha Stewart a few years ago but they were doing it on a beach towel and would put sunscreen and sunglasses and a book or something in the pockets and then roll it up for a grown up gift!  Thanks for posting this, I wouldn't have thought of making a changing pad out of it.

I was gonna post my pics in a separate thread but I just found this one. Here's the one I made that's similar:

I got tired of lugging around a huge diaper bad and made this out of scraps, fleece (for padding) and older brother's old jeans. I was actually inspired to do this by another project I saw. Someone sells circular changing pads that fold up and have pockets also. Since I'm no expert I thought rectangular would be more achievable.

Your tut was great.
i am hosting a ababy shower for my best friend next month, while my husband and i are moving into our new house.
The pad is a great idea and will be quick and easy to do.

I love it.

I've gpt to get a piccy of mine. . . It's black with oriental dragons on iot (fabric) and the towel is black white and grey stripes.

It's kyoot to me. It's not the usual pastel soft sweet stuff for a little baby. And it's something my hubby can hold and still look hawt and manly.

This one's pretty cool too! Do you have a tute for it?
