I made this quilt as a Christmas present for my boyfriend who is a Dentistry student.  It is the first quilt I have ever made, and will probably be the last.  That is why it is in the silk screening section, and not the quilting.

I wanted to screen vintage toothpaste ads onto fabric, but I didn't have the time to figure out if my screen mesh was compatible with my image, so I did a google search for teeth images, and found this cute dentist illustration.  I drew it out with a sharpie and changed it a bit...........hopefully the original illustrator doesn't mind.  I shot it onto half of a screen and printed it on cotton.

On the other half of the screen, I drew floating teeth and printed a repeat print  on a metre of white fabric.
I used thick cotton batting for the middle, and polar fleece for the back, so it is nice and puffy. However, nice and puffy is NOT nice to sew through. He got me a digital camera for Christmas, so now I can post all kinds of pictures on Craftster - Yeah!

Pretty cool.  You did a great job for your first(only) quilt.

That looks cool, and I'm not surprised that'll be your first and last quilt. ^^; (Me = impatient = machine sewing only! Cheesy )

The teeth print on the white fabric especially looks professional!

Thanks everybody for the nice comments!  How I do love Craftster.  Yes Henrica, that is my "knitting inspired painting".  I have been having fun posting stuff now that I have a digital camera.  Kind of like show and tell in grade school - my favourite!
