When I go to the beach, which is often since I live near the shore, I see many people wearing flip flops. I often see people wearing the same pair... and I've sometimes seen people with the same ones as me! Since I can't stand looking like other people, I found an easy way to make custom flip flops. Here's my tutorial.

First, gather the following materials: hot glue gun with glue, pair of flip flops, mardi gras beads (or other string of beads, pearls, etc.) and scissors.

To begin, cut the mardi gras beads (or pearls. I'm going to say mardi gras beads since that's what I used.) along one string, so the beads are no longer a necklace, but rather a straight line of beads.

Next, use the string to measure how long the strand needs to be in order to cover the thong part of the shoe.

Then, cut the beads to the measured legnth and glue in place.

Repeat on other shoe.

Here's me modeling them for you.

thats pretty cool, just the other day i was considering buying some sequins and gluing them onto a pair of my flip flops. great way to spice things up and you can almost be pretty positive that no one's gonna cramp your style by sporting the same pair  Grin

Hmm--I'd have to disagree--I live in Palo Alto, CA and just wore flip flops to work today.  It's about 75 degrees right now  Wink

And I agree--cute flip flops

I love simple projects like these! When I'm in between big time consuming projects I like to have small things like this handy. Thanks!
