hello craftster
i recently purchased a dress. it is um... very white. it is sleeveless has one of those scoopy v-necklines and is too white. i dont want to dye it but it definitley needs something. i cant find a pic of it online (it's used). but maybe you could throw some ideas at me? thanks

lace, ribbons, use another fabric on it to embelish, cut out flowers or shapes, felted flowers, silk flowers

I know you said you don't want to dye, but maybe a quick dip in some tea would take some of the harshness off the white? Then it would be more off-white/eggshell/ecru whatever they call that. The ribbon idea is another good one. I'm envisioning grosgrain ribbon in multiple sizes (colors up to you) layered on top of one another in a sort of fish-scale way (?making sense?). OR if you are a painter, paint a design on there. Or embroidery. Or cut the thing up and make a top and a skirt out of it and wear each peice with a loud print with a tiny bit of white in it - then you'll be glad its so white! Good luck!
