That sort of annoys me, someone makes 1 post, you reply, and they never go on Craftster again.  ANd I mean, ever.  Esspecially when the post is something like "LOL, ya, I want to like, do sumthin dis afternoon so like ya, do u dudes hav like ne odeas dat I cud do or sumthin cause i m not a gud crafter yet like ya so like LOL"  I can't understand netspeak, it annoys me, and I want to yell at the person and hit them with my knitting bag.

Sounds less like netspeak and more like "moronics."

Sometimes I think there should be implemented a 24-hr wait period to finalize registration.  Then maybe people wouldn't be so eager to sign up, post something trivial on a whim, and never follow-up.

I'm not alone!  I can't stand the netspeak either.  I think it makes people sound illiterate.

It doesn't make me happy, but it does make me feel a little better that other people feel like their effort in posting isn't returned.  I've been trying to post more and not get so attached to my words though  Grin

Haha, I hate netspeak too, mostly things like "cu l8r"... but I do live for most of my shortenings, like "wtf" or "atm" or "imo"... Wink I am a computer geek even language wise, but only the middle way wannabe computer geeks will use the moronic language described... even if most heavy geeks will use shortenings, they kickban people who write like what was mentioned earlier. Roll Eyes

Lol (yes, I know) I just found the best quote in relation to this, on bash.org

prettykittikat: Im going 2 the club 2night
Syric 2005: im going 2 lern 2 tipe 2nite 2
prettykittikat: what?
Syric 2005: Exactly

I happened to browse the Members List the other day,  The few pages I looked at were full of newbies who have never posted, and have never come back since the joined.  Some of them have been members since the beginning of Craftster.  It makes me wonder, Just how many of the 43,000 plus members are really active.

i hate it to when no one responds!! i usually go through the brain blockage section and try to help anyone's posts that say 2,1, or 0 because i feel bad for them and i would hope that someone would do that for my post  Smiley

and i try to respond to newbie's because i know that when i was one i was soooo excited getting my first reply

but sometimes you just can't help people with whatever problem they have when you don't get how to do it either  Huh( like how do i make this)

never even heard that all the abbreviating was called netspeak even tho i use it a lot! i'm jhust used to it from instant messaging people
