Where did I put that needle/bead/yarn...

I've managed to accumulate several paper sample books that print shops supply to customers.  Basically, it's a 5" x 8" booklet with sheets of paper in assorted colors and weights.

Most of the paper is in the 4" x 5" range.  And just one sheet of any given color.

I'll probably make a few origami items for the xmas tree.  And some of the nicer, more festive papers I'll probably use cookie cutters as stencils to make into simple ornaments and gift tags.

Any other ideas?

are they bound as well?  The printing shop that I use has their paper samples bound to show their binding styles as well!  And of course, these could be decorated with a cover and used as journals, recipe books, etc.

Also, the paper is nice enough that you could make christmas gift certificates on them.  'good for 1 night of babysitting' or whatever for your friends Wink

i don't know the weight of the paper or whatnot.. but the first thing i thought was recycling it into handmade paper.
also, lost of diff colors and patterns.. memo note? just send a short letter to a friend.
patterns would be neat for zine page backgrounds.
i have this horribly addictive habit of cutting magazine pages into small squares and the pasting them as the background for collages, etc.
if you saw the threads about the glass marble jewelry or resin stuff, use it as backgrounds instead of a photo or whatever.
scan it, incorporate it into a website layout.
pretty backings for photographs, or mount a photo on it and have a pretty border.

i think i'm spent. just some random things.. Smiley
