I tackled my first DP needle project tonight, a jump rope for my daughter for Christmas.  It actually turned out much better than I expected (although a few false starts while trying to figure out how to work four needles instead of the usual two!).

The pattern was in the September 2005 issue of Creative Knitting, although I didn't use the yarn they called for (it might not be available in Canada, as I had never heard of it before).  I put some more pics and boring details on my blog. And yes, I did test it out too... after I closed the curtains so the neighbors couldn't see me  Grin

I was able to knit it up in an evening, so I thought I would post my completed project and inspire some of you who just need to have another knitting gift to make before Christmas Wink  I know my daughter is going to LOVE it.  And I am just darn proud of my first successful adventure with DP!!

So is the blue part i-cord (where you only use two dpn's at a time) ? It's a really cute idea.  I need a last minute little girl gift, too...about how long is yours?

Yes, the cord was done with two DPs.  It is probably about 66" or 68" long after the finishing work is done.

The tips of my fingers aren't so happy with me after working with those DP to make something like that, lol.  But probably part of it was me just not knowing how to properly knit with DPs.  I see more of these in my future as birthday presents for my daughter's friends though!
