....re-using items (say a t-shirt) to make a product (say a bag) and selling it? I know of several websites that do this. Are there any certain laws that tell you what you can and can't do?? Thanks for the help.

i imagine that would fall under the licensing and copyright lays of the original item. ie, you wouldn;t be able to use an old photo from a nascar race program in a set of coasters. i think that falls under illegal disseminating. then if you were to sell it, your profits would be illegal gain. essentially any profits you make of the coaster would be from stolen property, and you would probalby be legally responsible.

it's a slippery slope, and if you plan on selling recon items, you'll need to do due diligence as far as the rights are concerned.
